Awards Judging 2026

Our awards are judged through a rigorous, independent process led entirely by industry experts.

Members submit detailed applications for one or more categories, supported by written evidence, photography and video content. Every submission is carefully reviewed by a panel of five independent judges, each bringing specialist knowledge and experience.

Following a highly competitive shortlisting stage, finalists are selected through a combination of interviews, in-person assessments and Full Member voting. This ensures every award genuinely recognises excellence across the brickwork industry.

Award categories

Commitment to Training and Development

This award recognises companies that demonstrate a genuine and effective commitment to training and upskilling across their workforce.

Judges look for clear training structures, evidence of accreditations and qualifications, strong health, safety and welfare standards, training embedded into day-to-day operations, and measurable organisation-wide impact.

Bricklayer Apprentice of the Year

The Bricklayer Apprentice Award recognises an individual who shows exceptional commitment, skill and ambition within their apprenticeship.

Applications include a personal statement from the apprentice, evidence of on-site and academic development, and supporting statements from their employer and training provider.

Unsung Hero

The Unsung Hero Award honours an individual at any level within the brickwork industry who consistently delivers exceptional results and adds real value, often without formal recognition.

Supplier of the Year Award

This award recognises a standout supplier delivering exceptional service, quality and reliability to member companies throughout the year.

Project of the Year Award

The Project of the Year Award recognises outstanding masonry projects that set a benchmark for excellence.

Eligible projects must have been completed within the past year, or be due for completion by December 2026, and demonstrate exceptional skill, creativity and quality of execution.
